Milan is absolutely in free-fall mode.. On Tuesday they showed another one unbelievable loss in Italy. They had a 36-19 lead in 2nd quarter against Reggio Emilia, but lost 87:91 at the end… J.Respesa can’t find any solution for this team and seems that his days in Milan are counted. Defense doesn’t exist, offensively no clear schemes and system. But Milan potential is still great and on good evening they might win against most of the teams in Euroleague.
Zalgiris doesn’t have top-level players, but they are playing team basketball in offense, which is based on fast movement, screens, shots, 1-on-1 situations.. Defensively Zalgiris is still one of the weakest sides.
Two bad defensive teams with great offensive potential meets here. Milan is an overish team normally and against weak Zalgiris side I expect their offense to show better numbers. On other side lithuanians should use Milan defensive weakness, run the floor and score points from defensive errors, which italians doing very often.
- Home avg. pace: 153 attacks
- Home avg. scoring: 1,09-1.12 pts/attack
- Away average pace: 148 attacks
- Away avg. scoring: 1.138 pts/attack
- Zalgiris 6-1 for Over/Under away
I expect 150-154 attacks to be done here and that should be enough for 165-172 game.
Prediction: Milan 88 – 84 Zalgiris
