Euroleague Top-16. February 26 picks

rochestie copyAfter short break Euroleague returns to our Thursday and Friday schedule. Unfortunately at this moment of the season lines are very strong and it’s hard to find bets with big value.

Today we have 4 games and one free pick, while 2 more bets available via paid subscription.

Nyzhny Novgorod – EA7 Milano

Russian team signed 2 new players: G.Mekel and R.Kuksiks. Now they have much deeper squad and better balance, especially offensively where both newcomers might score points and Mekel can create shots for teammates. But still nobody knows how fast they will addapt and how all this affect N.Novgorod game, which was very impressive in January but collapses in last few weeks.

Milan lost cup final and proved their losers mentality once more time. For this match they have full roster available.

With new additions Novgorod became better team and is very close to Milan level, but not the better team. I can agree here with -4 handicap line, but -5.5 looks like an overestimation of Nizhny Novgorod, which lost 5 of 6 last games. I expect Milan to revenge for home loss, but I can’t trust money them these days, because they never were good travellers (except last season) and their motivation is under question for me.

Samuels improved his form in February and returned to his normal level, which allows him to score in double digits. He is a key option for the team under rim and finish many attacks there. I expect him to score 14-15 points tonight basing on his last 6 games performance in Italy and Euroleague.

Pick: S.Samuels (Milan) over 10.5 @ 1.85 Favbet

Zalgiris – Galatasaray

Zalgiris without Gudaitis and turkish team will miss Arroyo. Zalgiris played its basketball in autumn, but now they fail to do it. Javtokas, Songaila looks empty and not motivated, young players stopped to play at extra-level and James Anderson also started to think about next season… He scores just 11.5 points in Top-16 after 16.8 in regular season.

Galatasaray with all their problems still looks competitive side. Despite Arroyo is still out, Galatasaray is much better and experienced team than Zalgiris. They have Micov, Arslan, Pocius (ex-leader of Zalgiris), Maric, Guler and Gonlum. All these players have tons of experience at this level and I really can’t understand for what reason bookmakers rate Zalgiris as same level team.

I expect very difficult game for Zalgiris with possible upset.
