Today we will see spectacular match between Panathinaikos and Fenerbahce in Greece. The most interesting point here is Zeljko Obradovic visit to Athens, where he is legend and always welcomed by fans. He made 5 Euroleague titles with green army and now he is head of their enemies…
During last few weeks PAO improved their roster by adding 3 Americans: experienced M.Haynez on PG position, shooting guard E.Williams (scorer) and Vince Hunter (defensive center, who can score too). The use last one use is under question, because he joined the team just this week, but Haynez and Williams already played in Greece league. Sasha Pavlovic is in doubt due the virus infection, Pappas is out too, but he is not important player in PAO this season.
Turkish teams comes also with limited rotation. Antic and Sloukas are still out for Fenerbahce with injuries, also Fenerbahce had a Cup-weekend and might be a little bit tired physically and emotionally, while greeks were to able to prepare for this game almost 2 weeks. That’s why this game should not be an easy task for Obradovic team, because PAO has improved in last weeks and will try to attack Fenerbahce in own hall, which should be full. Fenerbahce is 7-0 in Top-16 and nothing bad will happen with them, if they lose this game. Obradovic might help Serbian coach A.Djordjevic and his ex-club, where he won 11 Greek Championships, 7 Greek Cups and 5 Euroleague titles (2000, 2002, 2007, 2009 and 2011).
PAO is in good conditions recently and should take win here, especially now when Fenerbahce comes after winning a Turkish and 2 important players out. Odds are quite low, but recent move make PAO odds more interesting.
