12 games tonight and we got a lot of good bets and I selected one of them, that I really like, in a game between two bottom teams of the league.
Philadelphia 76ers – Orlando Magic
Both teams are searching for the first win of the season. Actually, I have to rephrase that. Orlando searches for the first win of the season. Sixers are looking for 0 – 82 season, but are willing to accept 10 – 72 season.
Orlando did things this season to improve. Signed Ben Gordon, Channing Frye – saw problematic spot (three point shooting) and tried to improve it. They drafted Gordon and Payton – two promising youngsters and gave one the keys to the team (Payton who is starting and playing PG) and gives plenty of minutes to develop the other pick (Gordon).
Sixers drafted Embiid, a player that was injured when drafted and was suppose to miss 2 – 3 months of the season, but Sixers already said that he probably won’t play this season and Saric, a player that will spend this season in Europe (and maybe next one as well).
They gave away every possible veteran that can contribute and they could get rid of (Hawes, Young, Turner).
Even Rookie of the Year last year, Carter – Williams, have yet to play a game this season.
It can be argued, that team’s best player is Tony Wroten, a end of a roster player on a good team.
Orlando wants to finally get a win and Sixers are every team’s best chance to get a win.
Sixers learned from last year’s mistakes and try to lose as much as possible in the beginning of the season, not to let some team bypass them on a road to the worst record in the league (Lakers really try to compete with them at the moment for this dubious title).
Orlando were 4 – 0 ATS against the Sixers last season (3 – 1 SU) and Sixers got even worse this season, while Orlando are slightly better.
Bottom line is simple. It’s very tempting to take Sixers as home dogs, against poor team like Orlando and you could see that public bets on the Sixers.
That’s a mistake in my opinion.
Sixers are terrible and while they might wake up against some good team and try to beat them, the last thing they want is to win against their direct rivals for last place in the league.
Obviously it’s not easy to take Orlando as road favorite, but that’s a good bet tonight that we should take.
Orlando -2.5, 1.93 odds – 7 units play – Pinnacle
