NBA Picks Wednesday Night 19/12/12

Today I will focus mainly on the hot NY derby between the Nets and the Knicks, but will also take a look on few other games as well.
NY Knicks – Brooklyn Nets

I believe that Nets can not only cover, but also win – but I will focus tonight on their total.
Nets lately been struggling on offense, but there is nothing like playing a bitter rival, to really bring your team to full focus.
Knicks on the other hand, played terrible defense lately, allowing their opponents to score above their totals in the last 5 games in a row, including games against the Nets just a week ago, when Nets scored 97 points.
Knicks slowly starting to get a bit sloppy on defense and it was obvious that their really strong start of the season, wouldn’t last.
Nets should score 98 – 102 points tonight I believe.
Nets Over 93.5 – 6 units play 1.91 odds – 5Dimes/WillHill

Atlanta Hawks – Oklahoma Thunder

I realize that Thunder have the revenge factor going for them and the fact that Hawks are in second leg of B2B, playing off an OT game.
But, Hawks actually match up not that poorly against Thunder and 6 points are just a lot of points to lay for such a close on paper game.
Hawks are 4 – 0 ATS playing second leg of B2B, so fatigue not that important of an issue for Atlanta.
Hawks should score 96 – 99 points today, so the only chance for Thunder to cover will be to score 105+ points – something that I doubt they will manage to do.
Hawks +6, 1.98 odds – 4 units play – Pinnacle

Few more thoughts:

Phoenix Suns – Charlotte Bobcats
LA Clippers – New Orleans Hornets

Both games have obvious favorites, getting really high lines.
But I believe we can easily see an SU win from one of the road teams and maybe, they worth a small bet on the line at least.
Suns are a crazy team that will surely fall 10+ points behind, like they like to do at home.
Charlotte played well against Lakers and while lost, will look to rebound and I can easily see road win here.

Hornets very poor team, but still won at Staples Center this season and 2 – 2 SU between them, since Chris Paul trade and 3 – 1 ATS in favor of the Hornets.
I believe that CP3 still has warm feelings for Hornets and won’t be looking to humiliate his former team.

Both dogs look much better lately and have a true shot at the game and with such huge lines, it maybe worth it, to take a small bet on them.
